Theosville Post Office - Cellar/Dugout
This arched cave is built at the base of a hill just to the north of the homestead of Peter Thoes. This was a building built behind the post office located at Lookout Station and was part of the Thoesville community that sprang up near the founding of the Wabaunsee county Alma, ks area. It is built remarkabley similar to the dugout near the top of hill a few hundred yards to the north that was said to be a bootleggers hideout (it’s unclear as to when). All other buildings are now long gone but the cave still stands in memorial. The cave opens to the west (southwest) and measures 10’(L)x9’(W)x 5.5’(H).
