Helm, R.H. - Root Cellar
This arched cellar is built into a slight slope several about 25 yards to the south of a modern structure built around original homestead. The distance and southern exposure both seem to suggest it being used for purpose other than root cellar. Possibly even as a dugout. However it is a very well made structure, constructed with jointed stones. Seems clear it would have been a professional mason's work. Most recently it has been the home of the houses water softener. The cave measures 18'(L)x9'(W)x7'(H).
