Renz, John - Root Cellar Cellar
This arched cave is located about three miles northeast of Riley, Ks nearly entirely underground with only a slight mound overhead. It's behind a wood frame house that was actually a corn crib at one point. It has remnants of a pulley system used to open a large door over entrance. This same mechanism can be found on another cellar located to the north of this site. The cellar itself still has a well preserved coat of concrete over its walls and shows proof of the uses and activities it was part of in the past. It opens to the east is approximately 16'(L)x9'(W)x7'(H).
