Hamilton, J.J. - Root Cellar and Springhouse
This site has two arched structures present on the site. The site itself is located in the middle of a section that is isolated nearly a mile and a half from nearest road. There are the remnants of walls and some foundations near the arch caves but it’s not clear what their nature would have been. The caves themselves are located about 40 yards from one another and each is in the midst of a clump of trees. The larger one is located to the north of the smaller one. The larger cave faces south and is approximately 18’x10’x7’. The smaller cave is mostly closed off by dense vegetation due to being located right next to a seemingly dry creek. It faces to the east and is approximately 13’x9’x6’.
