Zeckser, August - Root Cellar
This arched cave is built into an embankment, with a slightly raised mound, just to the south and below a stone house. It faces away from the house to the southeast and walks out via a restored front entrance and retaining wall. August Zeckser was supposedly a mason in the area and it’s likely he would have built this structure and helped to build others like it in the area. There are at least 3 others on neighboring properties. The one to the south was that of a Carl Zeckser. The cave is approximately 16’(L)x10’(W)x 7’(H).
